Guidelines for ETF Auctions & Swap Meet

Live Auction:

  • Items are placed into the Live Auction at the discretion of the ETF.
  • Sellers are allowed to place a reserve on their items. Reserve prices are not announced.
  • If bidding stalls before the reserve is met, the seller will be given the opportunity to make the reserve known or to lift the reserve.
  • If the item still does not meet reserve, the seller and high bidder will have the opportunity to negotiate a deal after the auction.
  • We will attempt to find an attendee to place bids for absejtee bidders. Contact us before the convention starts.
  • The ETF will take a 10% commission on the final sale price with the seller receiving 90%. This is for all sales in the Live Auction including those negotiated after the auction.
  • Payment can be made anytime after the close of the auction through Sunday afternoon by cash, credit card or Paypal.
  • We are unable to arrange shipping, but will cooperate with a shipper you select for item pickup.
  • Items may be left at the museum for a maximum of 90 days after the auction.

Silent Auction:

  • The Silent Auction starts at 8:30 AM Saturday morning and runs until approximately 6 PM.
  • No formal announcement will be made when the exact end time will be, so bid accordingly.
  • Bid sheets will be attached to each item in the Silent Auction. They will show a starting and increment price for each item. If you are placing the first bid, you must bid at least the starting amount. Subsequent bids must increase by at least the increment amount.
  • Reserves are not allowed in the Silent Auction but sellers can request the starting bid to be their minimum acceptable price for the item.
  • The ETF will take a 10% commission on the final price with the seller receiving 90%.

Swap Meet:

  • Outside Swap Meet spaces are available to all paid convention attendees on a first come, first served basis. There is a $15 charge for each vendor.
  • No commission is charged by the ETF for Swap Meet sales.

Please see Darryl Hock or Steve McVoy for any questions or for help in setting up your items.
