Early Television

This is a cabinet from a 1931 Hollis Baird TV adaptor after restoration. It uses the C-3-S shortwave chassis that is in the Hollis Baird console in our collection. This set received 2-3 mHz TV transmissions and connected to the neon of a scanning disk. Eventually we hope to find a chassis for this set. The knobs are probably not right. We will attempt to get pictures of an original and find the proper knobs. Here is a brochure listing some earlier Hollis Baird converters.

This advertisement does not mention television as a use for this converter, though we know that it was used for that purpose.
