CBS RX-90

This set was offered to the museum by Sam Coleman, cousin of Charles Coleman, who worked at CBS and Ampex during his career, and held several patents in early color television and television videotape recorders. He received the David Sarnoff Medal in 1970, the IEEE Vladimir K. Zworykin Award, also in 1970, and others. Charles Coleman died in July of 2005, and his family asked Sam to find a good home for the set and a spare 15GP22 picture tube. Charles planned to get the set working again, and was confident that he could, but cancer got in the way. Click for more on Charles Coleman.

The picture tubes in the set, and the spare, are both good. We plan to restore this set and put it on display in the museum.
