I inherited an old wood cabinet with the remains of an RCA TV set
inside (screen, picture tube only). Apparently the speaker, the
knobs, and the electrical plug were taken long ago. Is there anyone
in MD/PA/VA/DC/WVA area that might want some extra RCA parts or a
cabinet? I'd hate to see the parts go to waste. Thanks, Joe. JoeBontheroad at yahoo dot com. (10/26/07)

Free--Seattle area. Portable Silvertone from the 50's--has a date
stamped on it that says August 26, 1958. It currently needs to have
some of the pieces put back together. Checking on Google and e-bay,
Silvertone TVs seem fairly rare. I hope someone wants it and I don't
have to take it to the recycle place. woodward3046 at comcast dot

RCA Victor TV New Vista Color. I found this in my
attic of my 1901 home. This is from the 1960’s, yet I am not sure of
what year as you most likely will. I have no idea if it works, yet
the back of the cabinet is intact, and the front glass is fogged. I
have a bag of dozens of tubes that appear to have been taken out of
this set. I very much appreciate vintage and antique items and hate
to throw it away when I know someone out there, might really enjoy
restoring this! I will accept any offers! Located in Springfield
Mass. Email cyn7146 at Aol dot com (1/23/08)

210-CT-82-2 for sale. Ebony finish case in good condition with some
scratches, but overall it is in remarkable condition for its age. My

I have a Sylvania
Television Camera model 101 or 101A. It is about the size of a
shoebox and has both a standard lens and a telephoto lens with two
other empty slots on the front plate. It appears to be in decent
shape. I fired it up tonight and the status light comes on but I do
not know if it actually works. I do not know what the video output
is tuned to. It has a single BNC style connection on the back. The
cord has the old style forks on the other end for attachment to a
TVs antenna screws. I tried in on a new TV but couldn't get an
image. Just odd patterns and fuzzy black, as if the TV couldn't
quite tune it in.
I have the box, manual, and a tripod. I am using the tripod for a
lightweight jib in my business (they don't make em like that
anymore), and it includes the support brace for the legs and wheels
for mobility.
It's pretty cool. Does somebody want this? I don't want to take
advantage of anybody so just make me an offer. Any offer. But please
don't take advantage of me. It is not valuable to me. If it is for
somebody's museum great. If it is for a private collection I would
hope someone else would step forward and give me a value on this
unit.
The tripod is valuable to me. If you want that then we will need to
trade, or negotiate for something I can use for work.

I would like to buy, (or if anyone has one to give away) a late
1940's to early 1950's American made table or console model
television set in good working condition. The model or brand is
not important, as long as it is American made, works well and
looks presentable. I will be glad to pay an honest price plus
shipping for the TV set. Thanks Jerry E-MAIL TO: GAS776 at MSN

I am interested on buying round screen sets ( two sets, to be more
precise ) from the model years of 1950 and 1951. I have a very
particular interest for models made by RCA Victor and General
Electric. I want only table models, I can`t have consoles being
brought to Brazil by airplane. Screen sizes from 10 to 16 inches (
19 is way too big - 10 or 12 are my first choices ). No working TVs,
as those are too expensive for me - I will be very honest, I want
the most cheap stuff as possible. But this "cheap" stuff must be
complete, with all knobs AND back cover. Also, first choice is for
models with the screen on the center, not on the corner like on some
late 40`s Admirals and Motorolas. My e-mail is mosespa28 at hotmail

Masks for Motorola VT-71 and VT-73 televisions are now available at
Renovated Radios. Look in the Parts page near the bottom.
These masks are made of a foam very similar to the original mask.
Originals were sprayed on the face with a gray paint, probably to
cut down on reflections. These reproductions are dyed gray so you
won't have to paint them. The one on the left is the repro, on the
right is the original. (*)

| Now available for sale: Replacement for the vertical dynamic
convergence transformer for the RCA CT100 color TV. Price $200. I
will pot the new transformer in your old transformer housing using
silicone rubber for an additional $40.

The vertical dynamic convergence transformer in the RCA CT100 color
TV is subject to a high failure rate for several reasons. First, the
transformer is would with very fine wire, (#40 and # 43 gauge). This
fine wire is subject to damage due to corrosion caused by acids and
impurities in the materials used to construct the transformer, and
from moisture intrusion into the pitch which was used to pot the
transformer. The pitch expands and contracts with temperature, and
develops cracks. In addition to moisture intrusion, the movement of
the pitch may lead to mechanical failure of the fine wires where
they are joined to the larger external lead wires. The failure modes
show up as open circuits on either the primary, or more frequently,
the secondary windings. While this will not cause any damage to the
TV, it will prevent proper convergence, and may lead to loss of
focus voltage at the CRT.
Second, is the 3-4KV DC focus voltage applied to the secondary of
the transformer. This makes the transformer prone to arcing or
shorting from secondary to primary. This can lead to a more
catastrophic failure. If a short develops from secondary to primary,
all the power from the focus
rectifier is dissipated into the focus potentiometer. And if the
wiper of the focus pot is near the high potential side, all the
power is dissipated in a small portion of the resistive element of
the potentiometer, burning it out in a matter of only a few seconds.
I have seen several convergence transformers which were open circuit
at the start of a CT100 restoration, and have witnessed two
transformers short out after the set was restored and powered up,
resulting in the destruction of one focus potentiometer. This is
what has inspired me to take on the challenge of having a
replacement transformer built. These transformers have been
installed in
several CT100 TVs, as well as Westinghouse, Silvertone and Sylvania
15" color TVs.
So you 15" color TV owners may want to consider one of these
replacement transformers. Supplies are limited, with no assurance of
future availability.
Any questions email or call. I will bring several transformers to
the ETF convention. If you think you will buy one at the convention,
please let me know so I bring enough.

Greetings all vintage hobbyists and techs! I'm looking for a large
