Early Color Television

Mexican Field Sequential Color

The following was sent by Troy Walters:

Here's a very interesting little documentary on the development of colour television in Mexico which involved Mexican colour TV innovator Guillermo Gonzalez Camarena who in the early 1940s developed a colour wheel TV system that's like CBS's field sequential system. Anyways there's a very unique looking TV camera towards the end which looks a bit like a RCA TK-30 but has a colour wheel inside for the camera to produce colour and it looks to be well preserved!!!

Here is a 1941 patent on his system

In the 60s, Camarena developed a two color electronic system.
