RCA TK-20 Iconoscope Film Chain Camera

(Click on image for a high resolution picture)

After World War Two, RCA introduced image orthicon cameras for studio and remote pickup use. However, the prewar 1850 iconoscope was used in their film chain camera. The iconoscope was capable of producing a better picture if it had a large amount of light, which was possible in a film chain. The above camera and stand were donated by the Ohio Historical Society.
