Early Television

This set was made in 1946 for installation in the wall of a living room, bar or club. At the top is the AM/SW radio and TV tuner. Below is the power supply chassis, and at the bottom is the high voltage power supply and sweep chassis. Here are a picture of this set installed and a biography of Allen DuMont, whose company built this and many other early electronic and early postwar sets. They were shipped to the customer without a finish on the wood, so that they could be painted to match a customer’s décor.  This set has never been painted. Thanks to Chuck Azzalina for donating this set.
