How Good Can a Picture Be On a 15GP22?
John Folsom and Pete Deksnis will calibrate the gray scale on the museum's 15-in. color sets, utilizing a Spyder2PRO. Sets will include the RCA model 5 and CT-100 and the Westinghouse H840CK15, and perhaps some others.
The demonstration of 1953 NTSC color will be done using DVDs showing early TK-41 video of both NBC and CBS origin provided by Ed Reitan. Pete will bring his calibrated CTC2 chassis, which will be put in the museum's spare CT-100 cabinet with a good 15GP22.
A modern plasma monitor will be on display for comparison.
