Early Color Television

Homemade Color TV Set

This article and photograph were provided by Phil Beckman, son of Carl Beckman who built this color converter in 1951. The article describes a converter in front of a Motorola 7 inch electrostatic set. There is no automatic synchronization of the wheel, a mechanical brake is used to manually keep the wheel synchronized.
