Television technology arrived during the 1939 State Fair with this WLS exhibit. The broadcast shows four men appearing before the television camera. They are left to right: name unknown, a representative of Indianapolis; Harry G. Templeton the Superintendent of the State Fair; Governor Townsend; and Mr. Safford, Program Director for WLS. Thousands of Fair visitors paid.10 cents to see this early television display.
