We purchased this set in England. It is in excellent condition, and was purchased from the original owner. It is a 1938 model 7 inch direct view, with a AM/SW radio. Here are a brochure, technical information and service manual.
This set was purchased by Leslie Scott and Reg Scott to watch the first televised F.A. cup soccer game. The game was on April 30, 1938, and was televised by the BBC in a 2-hour broadcast using the radio commentary for sound. Television had its own commentary the following year. The match was between Preston North End and Huddersfield Town.
The set remained in the Scott family until we bought it in February of 2004.
