RCA Field Sequential System (US, 1945)

RCA also experimented with field sequential color. Like the CBS system, flicker was a problem, and it was impossible to fit the system within a 6 mHz channel without severe resolution limitations. However, the picture quality for still and slow moving scenes was excellent.

Drum receiver. At one point the engineers put polarizing filters over the color filters to make the system three dimensional.
