Early Color Television RCA Model 1 Prototype
The RCA Color Products Group in Camden, New Jersey was given the task of designing sets that could be produc ed for the public. The Model 1 was the first set they designed, and was finished by April of 1950. It is reported that 35 of these units were made. A sampling demodulator was used. The set consisted of two chassis with 45 tubes. It used a 16 inch shadow mask CRT.
